Be fully present in life

What if I write an entire blog post with my eyes closed?

This is exactly what happened last week as I was healing from yet another Lasek surgery. You know you are passionate about something when you can’t stand another second, a day or moment without doing it. For me, it’s writing and as I healed I was determined to write and I did just that so please enjoy this post.

As I sat up in my bed with my eyes shut with the warmth of my Mac book on my lap I began to feel myself get excited as I begin to type. Actively listening and actually enjoying the clicking and clacking of the keys of my laptop I began to wonder what I should write about.

Today I go solo

Two weeks ago I resigned from my day job to start the job of my dreams. Today is the day I go solo. I am scared, excited and feel outrageously purposeful. I have decided to listen to my instincts for a change and take the biggest risk of my life by launching my very own venture, genuineinsights.com, which is a personal brand coaching, training and marketing practice. I am leaving 15 years of corporate citizenship and am joining the tribe of the entrepreneur and because the creative innovative freedom not only feels right – I know it is right.

My passion has always been advising, coaching and helping creative visionaries actualize their dreams. My second passion has always been writing. Rather than do both on the side – in evenings, on the weekends and after hours – I have decided to dedicate my every waking hour to working for myself and on projects which I deem interesting and provocative. Like many other right brainers, I am leaving my comfy corporate gig to quench my thirst to create, inspire and make change. What is inspiring is that I am not alone; there are countless numbers of us leaving cubicle nations all over the world.

It’s OK to be outrageously excited!

I am beyond motivated today. I am beyond inspired. I am anxious, joyful and reflective. And i am experiencing a high level of electric energy which I project many other cultural modernists are experiencing all over the world. Rather than resist the urge to scream, laugh, cry or hug your neighbor, do just that. Reach out to others, discuss what you are emotionally experiencing and realize there is great power in pushing and feeding your electric energy forward.

Many of us have the desire to cry more than anything and I think crying is also powerful. So shed a tear for our past while shedding another for our future. And for those that desire to pop open the champaign early in celebration, i say go for it. Gather friends. Build momentum and celebrate, for this will be one of the most memorable evenings of our lives!
Its ok to be outrageously excited so don’t hold it in, don’t hide it and know that the positive energy will feed the positive outcome we are all hoping for.

Yes WE can!
